Check this page often for updated listings of all types of cycling events in and around the Decatur area. Rides require, at minimum, an appropriate bike in good working order, water, and a helmet. We suggest a spare tube, energy food, maybe a little cash in case we stop, and your biggest smile! Many rides are held subject to weather. It's a good idea to confirm dates, time and any specific requirements, too. We'll see you out there — and have fun!
Join Decatur Bikes on our Saturday morning ride!
|Most Saturdays||7:45 AM||Decatur Bikes Saturday Morning Breathe Easy Ride. This Ride goes from March 29th until the temp drops below 50 degrees, usually near the end of October. You will need to sign up for our email to receive updates as to whether we are doing the ride each week. We just want to make sure folks don't show up when our ride leader can't make it. We gather at the Decatur Recreational Center at 7:45am for an 8:00am leave time. This is a NO DROP RIDE so all skill levels and all types of bikes are welcome. We usually go out to Stone Mountain Park, take a lap around and head back to Decatur. The ride is 98% on the bike path. Average speed is usually around 12 miles an hour and you WILL NOT BE LEFT BEHIND!!! It ends up being around 25-30 miles of fairly easy riding. We like to say the ride is at a conversational pace. Helmets are required. Decatur Rec Center address is 231 Sycamore St, Decatur, GA 30030||231 Sycamore Street Decatur, Ga 30030||404-941-8717|
